Systems Architect Job Description

In their primary role, systems architects, also known as computer systems analysts, develop hardware, software, and network systems. They are responsible for the implementation, maintenance and operation of these systems. Systems architects customize systems to meet the needs of specific customers. They manage the backup of these systems, troubleshoot problems, provide solutions, and ensure that system development follows industry standards. Before creating a new system or updating an existing system, a systems architect typically prepares an operating cost report. This report will include cost estimates for system solutions and implementation processes.

Test and implement IT systems

Once a new system has been created, the system architects are responsible for testing the compatibility of these systems and for detecting and correcting any errors. Systems architects also oversee the implementation of new and updated systems.
