When a company has problems with computer networks, who calls? They will most likely go to a Network Operations Center (NOC), where a NOC technician can help them diagnose and fix their problems. NOC technicians monitor networks and maintain and repair routers, firewalls and switches. These professionals practice computer skills, problem solving and problem solving on a daily basis. NOC technicians oversee preventative maintenance of all network equipment for various industries. They repair and replace switches and routers, set up new servers, test and perform hardware and software upgrades to make sure networks are running smoothly due to outages or outages.

Schedule field technicians

Sometimes network problems need to be resolved on the spot; In these cases, NOC technicians pass details on network problems to field technicians and schedule them to travel to customer sites to work on network equipment. They maintain programs for field technicians, assist technicians by telephone, and keep records of repairs made for each customer.

Document calls and service results

NOC technicians document all incoming calls and record technical issues faced on each call. They log resolutions, communicate with vendors about ongoing issues, and use a ticketing system to update information on the progress of each call.
