Design and implement databases

Most database analysts should design and implement a database system after working on organizing the data. They need to be up to date on the latest database creation practices and trends to perform these tasks. They must also master one or more programming languages, such as SQL, an industry standard.

Actions on documents

Documentation is a very important part of the database analyst's job. Every aspect of a database must be carefully recorded. These documents will serve as a reference for new hires and future system maintenance. Therefore, database analysts must be able to communicate well through writing and be able to create flowcharts and diagrams.

Secure databases and tests

All databases must be tested for functionality and accuracy. Database analysts can run tests before a new system is released, as well as periodic tests on existing systems to ensure they are functioning satisfactorily.
